The President of India inaugurated the new building of Ramna Kali Temple

Visiting President of India Ramnath Kobind has inaugurated a new renovated building of Ramna Kali Temple in Dhaka. On the third day of the visit, he also took part in prayers at the oldest temple in the capital at around 10:30 am on Friday.

Earlier, confirming the arrival of the President of India, Utpal Sarkar, chairman of the Ramna Kali Temple Committee, told the media that the massacre took place here on March 26, 1971. The Ramna temple was destroyed by the Pakistani invaders. That part has been renovated with a grant of Rs. 7 crore from the Government of India. Devotees and the main temple have also been rebuilt.

President Kobind arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning on a three-day state visit with his wife and daughter to attend the closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and the Year of Mujib.

The next day, on Thursday morning, Kobind took part in the Victory Day parade at the National Parade Ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. In the afternoon, he took part in the Golden Jubilee of Independence and Bangabandhu's birth centenary celebrations at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.

Ramnath Kobind will leave Dhaka for Delhi on Friday afternoon after concluding his state tour.
